Blenheim Additions

When we first saw this substantial Federation style home, it was tired and dated in décor and layout.   While the original front rooms were well proportioned and included many intact period details, the rear was a rabbit warren made up of pokey service rooms and haphazard additions, including an indoor pool that took up half of the rear garden.
The brief was to alter and add to the home, and open up the pool, to provide the required accommodation and facilitate a contemporary family lifestyle, while capitalizing on the character of the original home.

Alma Residence

This State Heritage listed property has been restored and subtly altered to create a livable, contemporary family home.

This home has had many iterations.  Originally a Victorian mansion, then a school, boarding house and finally commercial offices prior to the current owners taking over custodianship and reverting it back to a family home.
Restoration included peeling back the layers, removing numerous kitchenettes, office toilets and air conditioning units, then restoring the bones back to original condition.  Along the way we made some subtle changes to transform the building and its surrounds into a comfortable and beautiful place to live.

Architelle was the project architect and heritage consultant for this exceptional project.

Nyora Renovation

This prestige home was given a complete refurbishment, including the interiors, exterior and gardens.

Architelle designed the new front Porte Cochere, attic conversion with new dormer window addition, and alterations to the verandah and living rooms to enhance the outlook and flow to the adjacent north facing private garden and pool

Boolarong Renovation

This light filled home has been completely transformed from its dull 1980's brick and timber origins.  The existing house has been reworked to open up the pokely series of rooms and allow for a more contemporary lifestyle.   To the rear a generous kitchen, dining and living room have been added, with seamless flow to the new covered outdoor entertaining areas and pool.   Retaining as much as possible to be most cost effective, the style of the new work takes cues from the traditional style of existing features, such as the curved timber stair and colonial windows, to ensure a comfortable transition between the old and the new.  


Arnold Federation

This home has been transformed into a substantial Federation-style residence.  A new first-floor addition, with traditional architectural details, has transformed the previously plain single storey brick home.

To the rear, the pool enclosure has been removed to create a more open and inviting outdoor living area, with an enhanced connection to the tennis court beyond.
